Covers two national parks namely Udawalawa National Park, with Jeep safaris and Horton Plains National Park (the most visited National Park in the country), two rainforest reserves (Sinharaja Rainforest and Makandawa Forest Reserve) and worlds first RAMAR wetland city “Colombo” with super luxury accommodation. Apart from 33 endemic birds you will be able to see the biggest land mammal the wild Asian Elephants and other mammals in the intermediate zone of Sri Lanka. Before the departure date you will be able to do souvenir shopping in the Colombo city.
ITINERARY
Day 01
Pickup from airport and transfer directly to Sinharaja Rainforest, Kudawa (if you don’t want to waste tie time you can start birding immediately), Overnight stay at Sinharaja.
Day 02
Full day birding at Sinharaja for endemics, overnight stay at Sinharaja.
Day 03
Birding in the buffer zone for elusive and rare endemic birds. After lunch leave for Deniyaya and overnight stay.
Day 04
Birding in Sinharaja Rainforest, Deniyaya high elevations for more endemics, after lunch leave for Udawalawa for overnight stay.
Day 05
Jeep safari at Udawalawa National Park for dry zone birds with elephants and other large mammals. Evening drive to Nuwara Eliya for overnight stay.
Day 06
Early morning drive to Horton Plains National Park for highland endemics, after late lunch drive to Kithulgala for overnight stay.
Day 07
Birding in the Kithulgala, Makandawa forest reserve and the village, after late lunch drive to Colombo for souvenir shopping and overnight stay at Colombo.
Day 08
Birding in Colombo wetlands (depending on the departure times) and drive to the airport for leave.
